Man chased down driver who cut him off, shot him in the head in Oklahoma, feds say
An Oklahoma man was sentenced to prison after prosecutors said he chased down a driver and shot him in the head during a road rage incident.
Jesus Flores, 42, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm in December, according to court records. On March 17, he was sentenced to seven years and eight months in prison, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma.
McClatchy News reached out to Flores’ attorney for comment on March 19 but did not immediately hear back.
On May 30, Flores was driving on a highway in Oklahoma City when he was cut off, according to officials.
Flores “chased down the car that cut him off,” then shot the driver in the head, prosecutors said.
The driver survived the shooting, officials said.
Authorities tracked Flores back to his home, and he “confessed to the shooting” and told them “where he hid the firearm,” KOTV reported.
In a diaper bag, they found two guns, which Flores was not allowed to have because of felony charges he’d faced in California, prosecutors said.
