A lottery player hit the jackpot — and is in for a life-changing prize in North Carolina.

The player bought a Carolina Cash 5 game ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the March 12 drawing, making it worth six figures, results show.

The winning numbers: 2-3-13-25-26.

The lucky $605,124 ticket was sold online to a player in Charlotte, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote on its website and in an email to McClatchy News.

Cash 5 is a rolling jackpot game that offers tickets starting at $1. To score the jackpot prize, a person’s ticket must match the five numbers picked in a drawing.

Lottery officials shared news of the Charlotte win early March 13, before the lucky ticket holder would have been able to claim their prize. Cash 5 winners have about six months to cash in, according to game rules.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
