Police in Michigan are investigating after they say a man and woman were found dead in a hotel room.

Around 10:45 p.m. March 7, police in Auburn Hills were called to a Holiday Inn Express for a report of a domestic violence incident.

When officers arrived, they heard two gunshots while in the hotel hallway, according to a Facebook post from the Auburn Hills Police Department.

When officers entered the room, they found a 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman dead. They also found a 3-year-old girl in the room unharmed, police said.

Investigators believe the man shot the woman then took his own life.

The girl was taken to a hospital and released to a family member.

Police said autopsies will be done. They are not releasing the identities of the deceased.
