‘Far from gloomy’ Eeyore — a 3-legged dog — is a ‘tail wagging machine’ at KY shelter
A dog in Kentucky is looking to get a fresh start in life after he and his owner had to part ways.
Eeyore, named after the beloved, grumpy donkey from “Winnie the Pooh,” doesn’t live up to his name, and is considered quite the “three-legged lovebug.”
“Hi there, I’m Eeyore! But don’t let the name fool you—I’m far from gloomy! At just 3 years old, I’ve mastered life on three legs, and trust me, I can still run, play, and zoom like a pro,” the Ashland Animal Rescue Fund said in a Feb. 12 Facebook post. “ My previous owner had to say goodbye, but I know that means my real family is out there waiting for me!”
While not providing much detail about Eeyore’s history, the shelter does say how unlike the 3-year-old dog is to his namesake.
“I’m a shaggy, snuggly, tail-wagging machine who just wants love, scratches, and maybe a few extra treats (hey, balancing on three legs takes effort!). I may look a little scruffy, but that just adds to my charm—think of me as a lovable, loyal teddy bear,” the shelter says.
Along with a description of the happy pup, a photo of the gentleman smiling is also included in the post.
“If you’re looking for a best friend who’s cute, goofy, and full of heart, I’m your guy. Let’s turn my ‘lost a leg’ story into a ‘found my forever home’ happy ending,” the shelter concluded.
