A poker player ended up hitting a big jackpot at a Las Vegas casino with the rarest hand in the game.

Now, she’s $279,376 richer.

The Baltimore woman was visiting Horseshoe Las Vegas on Monday, Jan. 20, the casino said in a Jan. 21 news release.

She sat at an Ultimate Texas Hold’em poker table and ended up with a royal flush.

A royal flush is the best hand in the game, according to Upswing Poker.

“The royal flush tops the poker hand rankings chart, as it beats all other hands in a showdown,” the poker website said.

It happens when a player gets an ace, king, queen, jack and 10 in the same suit.

Horsehoe Las Vegas is on the Strip.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
