A dog in New York has waited a long time for a loving home of his own — over a year, to be exact.

“Every dog deserves a chance at happiness, but for over 377 days, Clint has been waiting for that chance. Waiting for someone to see him. Waiting for someone to choose him. Waiting to put the shelter life behind him,” the Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester said in a Jan. 7 Facebook post.

Clint, a 4-year-old mixed breed pup, is known as “the dog with the permanent wink” around the kennel and is currently warm and happy with a foster family since shelter depression was starting to hit him, his pet profile said.

“Now he’s got his happy face back and he’s ready to find a home of his own,” his profile says.

The shelter said that the 65-pound pup was featured numerous times across its social media pages but has had no takers.

“We just need the right person to see Clint and give him a chance. We will not give up on this amazing dog,” the shelter said.

According to the post, Clint is:

  • Loyal

  • Curious

  • Housebroken

  • Crate-trained

  • Best suited as the only pet

  • A sunbather

  • A big fan of toys

  • A lover of car rides

And is overall “a big baby who loves to chill out and snuggle,” the shelter notes.

“This guy is quite the catch and is looking for someone who will provide him with patience, understanding, and love,” the shelter said.
