Woman found stabbed to death in Illinois, officials say. One man arrested
An Illinois man was arrested after officials say he stabbed a woman to death.
Pierre J. French is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, according to a Dec. 8 news release from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Elgin police were called at about 1 a.m. Dec. 7 for reports of a stabbing, according to officials.
When police arrived, they found Dreanna D. Booker dead with multiple stab wounds, prosecutors said.
“French intended to kill her and knew his actions created a strong probability of her death,” officials said.
Prosecutors said French stabbed Booker with a knife.
He was taken into custody shortly after, officials said.
“I’m (so) hurt right now. DreAnna Booker you were (so) sweet, loving and always (offered) to help myself and others,” one person wrote on Facebook.
“Twins is what we use to call each other,” Booker’s cousin wrote. “No matter how far or how many days we didn’t talk, we made sure we (kept) in touch with each other and told each other we love one another. The tears won’t stop falling. I really can’t believe this.”
Elgin is around a 40-mile drive northwest of Chicago.
