Lottery player uses win to buy new ticket in MO — and it pays off. ‘Doesn’t seem real’
A man reinvested part of his lottery winnings to buy a more expensive Missouri ticket — and then won big.
He normally buys $5 lottery tickets, his wife said. But, after winning $20 earlier that day, he decided to test his luck on a $10 ticket.
He scratched off the “100X The Money” ticket to reveal a $50,000 prize, Missouri lottery officials said.
When he showed his wife the ticket, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
“It still doesn’t seem real, like it’s a dream,” she told officials when claiming the prize. “Maybe we will ‘wake up’ when the money hits the bank account!”
Her husband purchased the scratch-off game at Dirt Cheap liquor store in O’Fallon.
O’Fallon is about a 35-mile drive northwest from downtown St. Louis.
