Sure — it’s not uncommon that a lot of loving pets are so attached to their humans, they can suffer from separation anxiety whenever their owner walks out the door without them. But one pup in Omaha has anxiety so crippling, it’s managed to turn him into quite the escape artist.

“This is Turtle. Turtle is a true velcro dog - so much so that he really struggles with being alone,” the Nebraska Humane Society said in a Oct. 18 Facebook post.

While a little anxiety is expected, Turtle takes it to the next level, which often leaves him with injuries.

“His separation anxiety has escalated to a point where he has broken out of kennels on multiple occasions, resulting in some bumps and scrapes on his noggin,” the shelter said.

This means the cute little guy will need a human who is patient and can teach him that he’s safe even if he’s alone.

“So if you’re a bit of a recluse, a trucker, someone who works from home, or even someone who can have a four-legged office assistant, Turtle might be your guy,” the shelter said. “He has done well with mellow dogs and kids of all ages.”

Also, his love will keep you warm during cold nights, staff members said.

“Our volunteers say he’s fantastic on the leash and loves to follow his nose when going for walks - and to top it all off, he’s a huge snugglebug.”

According to his pet profile, the 4-year-old English bulldog mix falls in love with everyone who comes across him and is a huge fan of cuddles.

“This bub has seemingly never met a stranger. He quickly makes friends with everyone, which is easily seen here at the shelter,” his profile says.

“Walk him down any hall and you’ll soon hear several people call ‘Turtle!’ It can take many minutes just to get him out the door to go to the bathroom because of all the stops he has to make to get cuddles from his friends.”
