James Muckenthaler hit a $2 million jackpot in the scratch-off game 100X THE CASH, the Florida Lottery said in an Oct. 21 news release.
Muckenthaler bought his ticket for $10 at a 7-Eleven on U.S. Route 301 in Riverview, which is part of the Tampa Bay area in Hillsborough County, lottery officials said.
The Apollo Beach man claimed his prize at a lottery office in Tampa, opting for a one-time payout of $1.28 million.
The lucky winner beat the 1-in-3,313,314 odds to win one of 10 top prizes in the game, which launched in January, according to the Florida Lottery. Three top prizes remain.
The 7-Eleven store will receive a $4,000 reward for selling the winning ticket.
