Sometimes, life gets in the way and plans that were supposed to be set in stone can fall through the cracks. This appears to be the case with a pup at a Pennsylvania shelter.

Buddy Bear, a corgi mix dog that’s just over 1 year old, was all set to go home with his new family. But circumstances arose, and the plan fell through in the eleventh hour.

“Buddy Bear was supposed to leave yesterday for a much needed and deserved home,” the Central PA Humane Society in Altoona said in a Facebook post on Oct. 8. “However, that fell through and we had to break the news that he isn’t leaving us…YET.”

According to the shelter, Buddy has an abundance of energy and loves to dash about and play. The shelter suggests that Buddy Bear be the only dog in the household so he can be front and center with his new family.

He’s also not a cat dog.

“Please help us mend his broken heart by finding him a FOREVER home,” the shelter said.

For more information on adoptable pets, visit the shelter’s website.

Altoona is about a 95-mile drive east of Pittsburgh.
