Customer chokes 15-year-old over splashed water at In-N-Out, Colorado cops say
A man was arrested after he was accused of choking a teenager over splashed water at an In-N-Out, Colorado police say.
A 15-year-old boy told officers he and two friends were inside an In-N-Out in Loveland the early morning hours of Aug. 4, the Loveland Police Department said in an Aug. 14 Facebook post.
In-N-Out did not immediately respond to McClatchy News’ request for comment on Aug. 15.
The friends were “engaging in horseplay by splashing water on one another,” when they accidentally splashed water on a woman nearby, police said.
The 15-year-old approached the woman’s table to apologize, “when an adult male accompanying the woman suddenly grabbed him, placed both hands around the front and back of his neck, pulled him down to the table and threw him backward onto the floor,” according to police.
The man and woman left the restaurant before officers arrived, police said.
Over the next week, police said its officers interviewed witnesses and reviewed videos of the incident.
Witnesses spoke to officers and identified the man, police said, adding that officers confirmed his identity using additional information and local records.
A case against the man, identified as 55-year-old Luccas Kalisher, was presented to the county district attorney’s office, according to police.
Prosecutors charged him with second-degree assault, a class 5 felony, and child abuse, police said.
Kalisher was arrested on Aug. 13 after turning himself in, police said.
Loveland is about a 50-mile drive north from Denver.
