Man kills girlfriend and leaves her remains in trash can for 30 days, Ohio cops say
As authorities in Ohio searched for a missing 56-year-old woman, her remains were in a trash can for weeks, according to police and news reports.
Now, the man accused of killing Tammy Dubuisson and hiding her body has been arrested and charged in her death.
James Drahos, who WJW reported was arrested July 9, is charged with aggravated murder and abuse of a corpse, court records show. He was jailed on a $2 million bond.
Dubuisson, 56, was last seen alive May 22 taking a walk in southwest Cleveland, according to Missing People in America. WJW reported she was reported missing nearly a month later.
On July 9, police and FBI agents recovered human remains at the Cleveland home of Drahos and Dubuisson, who were romantically involved, WOIO reported.
Drahos, 59, is accused of striking and killing his girlfriend May 23 and “leaving her body outside for eight hours,” according to an affidavit obtained by WKYC.
Then, according to the court documents from WKYC and WOIO, he put Dubuisson’s body into a trash can for at least 30 days.
A motive for the killing is unclear.
Drahos is due in court for a preliminary hearing July 19, court records show.
