Missing teen’s body found by worker collecting trash by road in Tennessee, cops say
A worker picking up roadside trash stumbled onto the body of a missing 17-year-old girl, and now a teenage boy has been arrested in her death, Tennessee police say.
Trinity Bostic was reported missing in Macon County on June 29, the Hendersonville Police Department said in a Facebook post. Four days later, on July 3, a worker subcontracted by the state Department of Transportation found a body in a wooded area near a road in Hendersonville, police said.
The girl, who stood 4 feet, 9 inches and had brown hair, was identified as Bostic, according to police.
“The Hendersonville Police Department suspects foul play in this case and the investigation continues,” the department said on July 5. The following day, police announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy from Westmoreland, in connection to Bostic’s killing.
Police have not publicly identified the boy but said he is facing a charge of first-degree murder.
It’s not clear what relationship, if any, existed between the boy and Bostic.
“The investigation of this incident continues,” police said.
Hendersonville is a roughly 18-mile drive northeast from downtown Nashville.
