Silence on the other end of a 911 call led deputies to a slain woman’s body, Colorado officials reported.

Deputies with the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office traced the open 911 line to a home near Pagosa Springs at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said in a news release.

Inside, deputies found the body of a 39-year-old woman who had been shot, the bureau said.

The case is being investigated as a murder and no suspect information has been released, officials said. The sheriff’s office requested the bureau’s help with the investigation.

Pagosa Springs is about a 275-mile drive southwest from Denver, near the New Mexico border.
