Sure, it might need a little work, but a house that’s for sale in Rock Hall, Maryland, is turning heads thanks to its cool-looking design and the person who turned the home from a dream to reality.

The seven-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom house — which is listed for $5 million — is a massive residence at 12,520 square feet and sits on almost 140 acres. But it’s really the design and layout of the home that are alluring.

The home was designed by Paul Rudolph, a famous architect who specialized in Modernism even when postmodernism was running wild during the end of his tenure, his biography notes. While he usually designed large buildings, this was one of the few houses he actually designed. It was finished in 1986.

It’s definitely unique as it was designed by Paul Rudolph, who didn’t design many homes as he did more buildings,” listing agent Tonya Keener told Realtor. “We have already had builders show a lot of interest in the property because it comes with a 139-acre farm with barns, a huge pond, and private beach.”

There also appears to be a long catwalk.

“It’s right on the water and has a catwalk that you don’t see too often in homes,” Keener says to Realtor. “There is more than 12,000 square feet of space; but it does have water damage because the roof was bad, so it leaked. Someone could come in, buy the property, and tear down the main house and rebuild the home of their dreams or restore it. The lot is also subdividable.”
