Powerball player hits $223 million jackpot. Where was the lucky ticket sold?

A Powerball ticket sold in New Jersey hit the $223 million jackpot, lottery officials say.

The ticket matched five winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Monday, June 10, the New Jersey Lottery said. The prize has a cash option of $104.7 million.

The prize now falls to an estimated $20 million, with a cash option of approximately $9.4 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, June 12, the national Powerball site said.

The winning numbers were 3, 10, 33, 58 and 59 with a Powerball of 9. The Power Play was 2.

More than 425,000 people across the United States won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, lottery officials said.

A Powerball player in Florida hit a $215 million jackpot in the May 6 drawing, marking the last top prize won in the game prior to the June 10 win, lottery officials said.

What to know about Powerball

To score a jackpot in the Powerball, a player must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.

The odds of scoring the jackpot prize are 1 in 292,201,338.

Tickets can be bought on the day of the drawing, but sales times and price vary by state.

Drawings are broadcast Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:59 p.m. ET and can be streamed online.

Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
