One of oldest houses in US hits the market. And its inhabitants are a bit terrifying

A rather stunningly preserved house in Plympton, Massachusetts, has landed on the real estate market for $800,000 and it’s turning heads on one popular social media site.

Why? Because it’s one of the oldest houses in the country, and possibly the oldest listed for sale today.

Built in 1669, The Stephen Bryant house currently has three bedrooms and two bathrooms on two acres, but when it was first established, it was a half house before it was expanded in 1703, the listing on Realtor.com says.

“The current owners have meticulously restored and maintained this home for the last 31 years,” the listing notes.

While the photos show a very well-kept home throughout its 2,503 square feet, they also provide a glimpse of some very odd, and old school decorating styles, including faceless dolls looming on shelves.

The residence caught the attention of Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page and X (formerly Twitter) account that features unique houses up for sale, and folks were either charmed, or frightened.

“Wow, what a remarkable property for the US - and so well maintained. It’s like living in your own episode of Outlander,” one person said on Facebook.
