Why is everyone ‘looking for a man in finance’ on TikTok? New viral sound explained
It seems everyone on TikTok is looking for the same thing — a man in finance.
A TikToker known as @Girl_on_couch posted a video on May 1 asking users a very important question ahead of the coming months, “Did I just write the song of the summer?”
The video that’s garnered over 10.1 million views as of May 6 shows the user giving her take on the potential next pool party bop.
“I’m looking for a man in finance, trust fund, 6‘5, blue eyes,” she said in the video captioned, “Can someone make this into an actual song plz just for funzies.”
Commenters agreed the sound needed to be sampled.
“This is a def a house song,” one person said.
“Lmk when it’s released,” said another.
One even suggested popular DJ, John Summit, take a stab at creating the song.
“I need @Johnsummit to remix this,” the user said.
Singer-songwriter and record producer @FINNEAS took to the app to make a spoof of the sound that others thoroughly enjoyed.
“I’m looking for the wifi network, friends house, airport, hotel,” he says in the May 5 video posted to TikTok.
Someone poked fun in the comments saying, “You’re doing it as a joke but I’m gonna be disappointed if I don’t hear a remix by tomorrow.”
Other TikTok users like @MalibuBabie decided to make the “vision come true” by mixing the sound.
“This is going to be in every club in the country,” one person said on the TikTok posted May 4.
Another user known as @Tenstepsofficials posted a May 2 TikTok also creating a mix of the viral sound that left people in the comments saying, “THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I THOUGHT THE SONG SHOULD BE.”
“Finance Bros going crazy to this one,” another person wrote.
“Do not let the actual finance bros get their hands on this. They will be unstoppable,” a commenter said.
