Kate Middleton’s brother is speaking out after his oldest sister revealed publicly that she is battling cancer.

James Middleton’s Instagram post comes after Kate Middleton shared a heartbreaking video March 22 explaining what she and her family have been enduring ever since she underwent abdominal surgery back in January.

The post from James Middleton revealed a never-before-seen photo of himself and the princess as children.

“Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too,” James Middleton wrote.

The comments section of the beautiful post revealed thousands of well-wishers praying for the Middleton family.

In the video shared with the world on March 22, Kate Middleton announced that she was diagnosed with cancer following the major abdominal surgery she underwent at the beginning of the year. She did not share the type of cancer she has.

The princess called the diagnosis “a huge shock” to herself and her family.

“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

After thanking people all over the world for their encouraging words and “wonderful messages of support,” Kate Middleton continued to say her and Prince William’s focus has been on their three children.

“Most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok,” she assured in her video message.

“William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.”

She continued, also thanking her husband for being “a great source of comfort and reassurance.”
