Taco Bell brings back fan-favorite taco for a limited time. Here’s when you can get it
A Taco Bell fan favorite is making a comeback after popular demand, the chain said.
The double decker taco returned to restaurants Tuesday, Dec. 5, according to a Taco Bell News release. Customers can get it for $2.99 at Taco Bell stores nationwide, but only for a limited time.
The popular handheld item, last seen on menus in 2022, features a “bean-filled tortilla wrapped around a taco shell” and is stuffed with beef, lettuce and shredded cheese, a product description reads.
After its 1995 debut, the double decker taco returned as a permanent menu item in 2006 before it was discontinued in 2019, Eat This, Not That reported, citing Taco Bell. The beloved item has made brief returns in the years since with no shortage of fervor from Taco Bell fans who hoped to see it back for good.
“The Double Decker Taco holds a deep space in the hearts of our Taco Bell Fans,” Taylor Montgomery, chief marketing officer for the chain, said in a news release. “The insane amount of love for this product from fans across our social platforms was impossible to ignore.”
It’s just the latest item to make its way onto Taco Bell’s menu.
In November, the chain debuted a cheesy twist on its fan-favorite nacho fries. The toasted breakfast tacos also joined Taco Bell’s morning lineup.
