Mom dies after crashing into manure spreader, MN cops say. ‘Family’s heart is broken’
A mother of three died after crashing her vehicle into a manure spreader, Minnesota authorities say.
Brenna Amos was driving a GMC Terrain at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, when she rear-ended a manure spreader being pulled by a tractor, according to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened in the area of Red Wing and Featherstone Township, southeast suburbs of Minneapolis.
The 65-year-old driver of the tractor, sheriff’s officials said, told authorities he “heard a long bang and was pushed forward.” He was not injured.
Amos was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff. The crash remains under investigation.
Her death came a day before her 34th birthday.
“My heart is broken and my family’s heart is broken,” Amos’ sister, Alanna Battey, said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
Amos was married to Chad Amos and they had three sons, ages 12, 10 and 4, according to a GoFundMe.
An obituary states Amos received degrees in liberal arts and surgical technology. She most recently worked as a cast technician.
“Brenna had a love for cats, but her main passion in life was her three boys,” the obituary states. “She had a feisty personality, was a loyal friend and a fierce wife and mother.”
