A father gifted his 18-year-old son his first lottery ticket after he graduated from high school in Washington.

Then the son won thousands.

Lance Wall’s father bought him a Six Figures Scratch ticket from a grocery store in Camas, Washington’s Lottery said in a June 27 news release.

The recent high school graduate from Washougal played the lottery game and scored $50,000 the “ultimate graduation gift,” lottery officials said.

Players have a 1 in 913,000 odds of winning the $50,000 prize, officials said.

Walls plans to save his big prize for the future. He told lottery officials he wants to become an artist.

Washougal is about 180 miles south of Seattle.
