From a great distance it may look like a giant water well or a silo of some sort, but — in fact — the structure is actually a California desert house, partially hidden underground.

And it’s listed for $12 million.

Tucked away in Joshua Tree, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom residence offers seclusion inside a concrete bunker with a distinguishing style.

“This one-of-a-kind compound offers off-the-grid minimalist luxury living in the heart of the high desert,” the listing on Compass says. “A pristine three-acre parcel of desert land near Joshua Tree National Park comes fully developed for a stunning, sustainable home custom-designed by Unincorporated Associates, a New York and Los Angeles-based firm helmed by a fashion designer and an architect.

“Designed in harmony with its natural surroundings to inspire creativity and peace of mind, this private compound is UA’s first fully immersive residential design concept.”

Features in and around the 3,200-square-foot property — per the listing — include:

  • Mountain views

  • Courtyard

  • Solar technology

  • Guest house

  • Pools

  • Three-car garage

  • Wet bar

  • Media room

  • Expansive primary suite

  • Custom furniture

The home even comes with “a customized apparel collection and a fully customized vintage Land Rover with an eco-friendly engine,” the listing notes.

The desert diamond even caught the eye of Friday Night Zillow, a Twitter segment run by Bloomberg reporter Steven Dennis, who referred to the compound as “A potential Bond Villain Lair.”

And people were intrigued.

The silo part needs to rise out of the desert to really nail the Bond villain vibe. It shall be called ‘The Bunker,’” one person noted.

“You nailed it—it’s definitely Bond villain house. Wonder why it’s 12M?’ another asked.

“Sadly, I’ll have to pass on this monochromatic wonder,” someone tweeted.

I can imagine living in that house for five years and then coming across a room that I’d never noticed before. Was that door always there?” one person said.

The listing is held by Keith Markovitz.
