Blue Bell and Dr Pepper team up for new ice cream. When can you get it?

Two of the most famous brands from Texas — Blue Bell and Dr Pepper — have teamed up for a new frozen treat just in time for summer.

Blue Bell announced Thursday, May 18, the new Dr Pepper Float ice cream is now available. It’s described as a “creamy vanilla ice cream swirled together with a Dr Pepper flavored sherbet.”

“Our Texas heritage is so important to us at Dr Pepper, and we are excited to team up with fellow Texas-born brand, Blue Bell, to create this new delicious treat,” said John Alvarado, senior vice president of Dr Pepper brand marketing.

The ice cream is available in pint and half-gallon sizes through 2024 in the 23 states where Blue Bell is sold.

It’s the first time the two brands have teamed up. Blue Bell originated in Brenham, while Dr Pepper is based out of Plano.

“Dreams really do come true!” one woman commented on Facebook. “I’ve been making DP floats my whole life.”
