Mega mansion that sold in Missouri for $13M is like a car lover’s personal Disneyland

A home that is a car lover’s ultimate paradise has just flown off the real estate market in St. Louis, Missouri — for a pretty penny too.

According to a news release and The Wall Street Journal, the 30,727-square-foot mega mansion sold for $13 million, which was $2 million less than its original asking price. Even though it went for less, the real estate deal was still one of the priciest in the state.

Seller David Porter, the creator of the Furminator pet grooming tool and a car collector, told the WSJ the home was a “four-year art project” he had a hand in designing.

“It was a lot of fun,” he told the WSJ. “I came up with a lot of crazy ideas. I have a wood-burning fireplace in the great room, but I didn’t like carrying firewood through the house, so there’s a dumbwaiter next to the fireplace.”

McClatchy News reported on the seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom house when it first hit the market in October

“This French inspired estate rests on 7.5 acres, with breathtaking tree-lined views. In perfect harmony with its surroundings, the property unites the main residence, pool complex, private lake, guest housing and auto courts,” the listing on Zillow.com said, according to McClatchy.

Features in and around the estate include:

  • Wine cellar

  • Saloon

  • Chef’s kitchen

  • Elevator

  • Theater

  • Infinity pool

And yes, even a Lamborghini showroom and a car wash — which is almost like a Disneyland for anyone and everyone who absolutely is obsessed with cars.

The sale of the home was handled by Stephanie Oliver of Dielmann Sotheby’s International Realty.

The buyer was represented by Jeff Lottmann of Compass.
