19-month-old dies after being abandoned by driver following crash, Las Vegas cops say

A 19-month-old girl abandoned after a pickup truck slammed into a wall last month has died, Las Vegas police reported.

A 2004 Nissan Titan drifted off the road and hit a block wall at 11:19 p.m. Feb. 18, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department news release said..

The driver removed the injured 19-month-old and a 9-year-old girl from the truck before fleeing, police said.

Medics later took the girls to a hospital, police said. The second girl had minor injuries.

Hospital officials informed police on Friday, March 3, that the 19-month-old had died of her injuries, the release said.

Police are still seeking the 28-year-old driver of the pickup truck, the release said.
