Mansion listed for $150 million is ‘Wimbledon meets Wedding Crashers.’ See why

A mansion that could very well be considered a work of art has graced the real estate market for a stunning price in Greenwich, Connecticut.

And judging by the listing and photos — the price matches its rich grace that looks like it was pulled directly from the silver screen.

Its name is Copper Beech Farm and the eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate is listed for a staggering $150 million. But when we say this waterfront property has a fairy-tale essence, we’re not lying.

“Situated on a private peninsula, the estate spans over 50 acres with almost a mile of frontage,” the listing on Sotheby’s International Realty says.

“From its vantage point of 40 feet above mean high water, this estate enjoys dazzling views of Long Island Sound. The property encompasses a stately main house with spectacular walled gardens, a swimming pool, a grass tennis court, apple orchard and two private beaches.”

The estate is very accommodating to guests and has a plethora of options. Either stay in the primary house — which is 13,516 square feet — or relax in the other buildings on the property, which include:

  • One-bedroom carriage house

  • Three-bedroom gatehouse

  • Pool house

  • Two greenhouses

The main house was built in 1898 and has since been restored to its glory days and “evokes the grandeur of New England’s most pedigreed seaside estates, built for glorious summering by the water,” the listing describes.

Features of the home include:

  • Dramatically high ceilings

  • 75-foot heated pool

  • Stone terraces

  • Tile flooring

  • Hardwood flooring

The estate caught the eye of fans of Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page that features unique homes for sale around the country. And people were transfixed.

“Wimbledon meets Wedding Crashers. Nice if you are a billionaire, I guess,” one person said.

“I bet the gatehouse is worth more than I’ll make in a lifetime!” another noted.

“If only it were 13,520 sq.ft,” someone joked. “The greenhouse, though. I’m swooning.”

“You had me at two greenhouse and my husband was sold with by the 1 mile private waterfront,” one person commented.

“I love it!! It’s perfect,” someone gushed.

“If we all put our money together I bet we could afford the down-payment on the guest house,” another joked.

“I really like this one! I find so many of these giant houses have a lot of wasted, empty space, and don’t feel ‘homey’ at all, but this one actually looks comfortable!” one person noted.

The listing is held by Leslie McElwreath.

Greenwich is about 35 miles northeast of New York City.
