Boys found dead in Tennessee after their mom’s body is found in Alabama home, cops say

Two boys and their father were found dead in Tennessee after their mom’s body was found in Alabama, officials say.
Madison County deputies said they found 43-year-old Jennifer Lepore’s body inside a Huntsville, Alabama, home late on Wednesday, Jan. 18, after they were asked to do a wellness check. After finding her body, investigators learned that Jennifer Lepore’s husband, Jamie Lepore, and their two sons were missing.
Deputies learned of a location they might be in Tennessee, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office. Investigators contacted police in Murfreesboro, about 80 miles north of Huntsville, for help locating the boys and their dad.
Murfreesboro police arrived to a home where they expected to find Jamie Lepore and his sons — 9-year-old Jesse and 11-year-old Sean, the department said in a Facebook post. While officers were speaking to tenants outside the home Thursday morning, they heard three gunshots.
Inside the home, police said they found the boys and their dad dead. Jamie Lepore is accused of shooting his two sons before shooting himself.
Investigators are still working to determine Jennifer Lepore’s cause and date of death, the sheriff’s office said.
Friends and family remembered Jennifer Lepore and her two sons in social media posts.
“My heart is absolutely shattered over this,” one friend posted on Facebook.
“No words can describe how in shock I am,” another person wrote.
“I love you so much and I will miss you forever,” Jennifer Lepore’s sister, Sarah Ghea, wrote in a post about her sister and nephews.
Sean Lepore, who was a competitive race car driver, and his brother, who raced BMX bikes, were remembered by friends.
“Carry him Jesus, carry him home,” a fellow racer wrote about Sean. “I hate that the evil took you out of this world.”
“This is so shocking and monstrously tragic,” another person wrote in a comment.
Murfreesboro is about 30 miles southeast of Nashville.
