Sweet home confuses Zillow Gone Wild — for a reason. ‘Assuming it’s bigger ... inside’
A home with a sugary exterior has captured the attention of a popular social media real estate page thanks to its build … and its extreme price tag.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home that is 2 square feet has listed in the Old Dominion State for $450,000. Though we’re quite sure it’s a joke because it’s, well, a gingerbread house.
“Newly built home in the heart of Woodbridge Virginia!” the listing on Zillow.com says. “The North Pole experience in a lovely DC suburb. Original Gingerbread drywall, Mounds shingles, M&M architecture, peppermint bark crown molding and a brand new Candy Cane chimney!”
It’s been on Zillow for a mere five days, and it’s already brought smiles to Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page that highlights unique houses for sale.
“I’m assuming it’s ‘bigger on the inside,’” one person joked.
“I’m only paying the asking if there is an elf on the shelf inside that 80s themed monstrosity,” another said.
“I feel like if they would of upgraded with Almond Joys they could have easily got another 50 grand more...” someone commented.
“Good one!” one person said. “No really. It’s good, I mean delicious.”
“That’s a legit price for a house on Long Island with that square footage,” someone joked.
“I make home baked gingerbread house kits for my home based small business. I love seeing people embrace the fun!” another said.
“A little concerned about what appears to be a major spider problem on the back of the roof,” one person joked.
“Won’t pass inspection....so we will just have to eat it!” another suggested.
“I dunno—it looks like someone flipped it...” someone said.
