Traveler arrested after bomb threat made on JetBlue flight to New Jersey, officials say
A bomb threat was made on a JetBlue flight from Florida to New Jersey on the day before Thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel days of the year.
The plane departed at 8 a.m. from Orlando and landed shortly after 10:30 a.m. in Newark, according to Flightaware, a flight tracking website.
The threat was sent around 10:14 a.m., according to News12, and 100 passengers were on board.
Upon arrival in Newark, the plane taxied to a “remote area,” a JetBlue spokesperson told McClatchy News, adding that “law enforcement met the flight and cleared the aircraft.”
No one was injured and one person was taken into custody, according to PIX11. The individual has not yet been identified.
“The safety of our customers and crewmembers is JetBlue’s first priority, and we will work to support law enforcement with their investigation,” the spokesperson for JetBlue said.
