School employee body slams prankster interrupting HS football game, CA video shows
A football game between Kennedy High School of La Palma, California, and Katella High School of Anaheim, California, took a turn when a 20-year-old prankster ran across the field with an explicit banner.
On Sept. 23, the teams played at Glover Stadium in Anaheim until an incident that has gone viral on social media ensued, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The video shows a man running through the game with a vulgar banner. He runs through the end zone and toward a concrete wall before an employee from one of the teams chases him and slams him to the ground.
When the 20-year-old is taken to the ground, players can be seen jumping and celebrating in the clip.
Police officials confirmed the person who slammed the man was an employee at Katella High School, according to the LA Times.
McClatchy News reached out to the high school for comment on Sept. 27 but did not receive an immediate response.
The man was knocked out by the body slam, which made the crowd gasp, a witness told KTLA. The witness said she believed the body slam was unnecessary and used excessive force, the outlet reported.
The man, who didn’t attend either school in the past, was released after police gave him a warning, according to KABC.
This isn’t the first time this prankster has made a move at scholastic events.
John Baustista, a spokesperson with Anaheim Union, told the LA Times that the prankster has been involved in similar incidents for the purpose of social media posts.
Anaheim police are following up with the Anaheim City Attorney’s Office to see if charges are appropriate in this case, according to KABC.
Anaheim is about 30 miles south of Los Angeles
