A missing pet wolf was reunited with its owner thanks to police officers in Oklahoma.

A wolf was spotted near a daycare in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Oklahoma City Police Department said in a Facebook post.

The wolf roamed in the grass near a fence, off the side of a road, photographs show.

Officers arrived to find that the wolf was actually a pet named Nova — about “85% wolf and 15% Alaskan Malamute,” the post said.

They coaxed Nova into the squad car and snapped a few selfies before reuniting her with her owner. “Big bad wolf? More like a cuddly puppy,” police said.

“Words cannot express how thankful I am!” Nova’s owner commented on the Facebook post. “It’s been a terrifying 24hrs and now she gets to have a much needed bath and nap.”

“How adorable!” another person commented.

“Look at that smirk. What a cutie,” someone else wrote.

Multiple people commented expressing relief that Nova had not been mistaken for a wild wolf and shot. Some recommended a brightly colored collar for the pet.
