No feat is too small for Richmond firefighters — even one with four paws and a tail.

Firefighters responded to a call on Aug. 22 of a tiny kitten wedged inside the dashboard of an Audi that had pulled into a Dollar Tree parking lot, the Richmond, Virginia Fire Department said in a post on Facebook.

An animal control officer can be seen in a video freeing the kitten from the dashboard, which took some dismantling with the help of the firefighters.

“Our crew had to remove several panels in order for the Richmond Animal Care and Control officer to retrieve the cat,” the fire department said.

Aside from being trapped inside a dashboard, the kitten appeared to be largely uninjured, and the cameraperson offered to take it to the vet later on.

Officials handed the kitten over to the owner of the car, later adding on its Facebook page that they thought “Audi” would be a good name for the orange and white cat.

“Every call is different for our firefighters, but we’re glad this one had a pawsitive ending,” the fire department wrote.
