Missing 63-year-old man with autism found safe after U-Haul theft, California cops say

A 63-year-old man with autism was found safe after someone stole a U-Haul box truck in Anaheim with him inside, California police reported.

A woman jumped into the U-Haul truck and drove off with it about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, Anaheim police said in a news release.

The stolen U-Haul and missing man were later found in the 3000 block of La Brea Avenue in Baldwin Hills, Anaheim police told KTLA on June 23.

Two men and two women were detained at a motel there, police told KABC.

Police ask that anyone with information call 911 or 714-765-1900.
