Former German settlement with Alamo ties lists in Texas for $12 million. Take a look

A sprawling 164-acre horse farm with some historic Texas ties has hit the real estate market in Spring Branch for $11.99 million.

The breathtaking farm comes complete with a primary home, original buildings from the 1800s, and an equestrian center.

“Indian Creek Farm, which was gifted to the seller from her husband as her 20th wedding anniversary gift, is an equestrian estate that is home to two top national champion horses, ‘On cue’, and the Olympian team darling ‘Tsetserleg,’” the release says. “The seller came to the farm with one horse and has turned it into world class equestrian facilities with award-winning horses.”

According to the release, a part of the farmland was a portion of 633 acres that the state gave to Erastus “Deaf” Smith, a courier who served William B. Travis, who called Smith “the Bravest of the Brave in the cause of Texas.”

Smith was on his way to deliver the letter from Travis — pleading forreinforcements for the Alamo — to Gen. Sam Houston when the Alamo fell.

The property where the farm is located was also originally a German settlement in the 1800s, which have been preserved, the listing says.

It’s like an English country cottage, with original stone walls,” listing agent Nadia Black told Mansion Global.

“The house is built above the original stone sheep barn that was done in the 1870s,” owner Christine Turner said to Mansion Global. “It’s wonderful being above the barn, hearing the horses at night. The whole front of the house has windows looking out over 50 acres of paddocks, cross country and arenas.”

Features on the property include:

  • Three bedrooms

  • 4.5 bathrooms

  • Office

  • Laundry area

  • Four car garage

  • Nine stalls for horses

  • Two additional barns

  • Additional homes on the farm

  • Swimming pool

  • Cabana with outdoor kitchen

Spring Branch is a small community about 35 miles north of the Alamo.

The listing is held by Black along with Kelsey Bond of Douglas Elliman.
