A man fell through the roof of a 40-foot warehouse and died in Texas, and alcohol was likely a factor, according to investigators.

A group of three men, all believed to be in their 20s, “had been out drinking” before getting on top of the warehouse in Cypress, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a May 26 tweet.

Cypress is a suburb of Houston, located about 24 miles northwest of downtown.

The trio was able to access the industrial lot because one of the men had a key, Gonzalez said.

They used a crane to get onto the roof, by climbing into an attached basket and lifting themselves to the top.

It’s not clear how long they were up there, but at some point, one of the men plunged to his death through a skylight, Gonzalez said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
