Castle on the outside, modern day luxury inside. Check out Colorado home for sale
A home on the real estate market in Denver, Colorado for $3.5 million is all about being a castle — but only on the outside.
Built in 1886, the eight-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom home features “locally sourced lava stone from Castle Rock that evokes an aura of European pageantry and royalty,” the listing on Realtor.com says.
However, the interior has rooms that hold a modern chicness with updated features and splashes of vibrant color. And the sleek inside doesn’t draw attention from its medieval-like outside.
“You don’t see a lot of castles in the middle of Denver — and this one is really true to being a castle,” listing agent Jenny Usaj told Realtor.com.
There is also some rich history inside as well, including a large window in the staircase.
“This peacock window in this home is stunning. It’s at least 6 feet across and has stained glass that was created in Belgium prior to World War I,” Usaj said to Realtor. “Part of the way they colored the stained glass was they mixed actual gold into the glass to change the color of it.”
Other features across the home’s 6,308-square feet include:
Soaring ceilings
Oversized windows
Multiple kitchens
Hardwood floors throughout
Patio area
“It is magical,” Usaj told Realtor. “It truly just takes you back in time to a place where people were thoughtful about their craftsmanship, and it’s just one of those houses you walk in and think, ‘Oh, if these walls could talk,’ because they’ve seen so much.”
