Three children were hurt when a helicopter landing nearby blew away a bounce house at a Rancho Cucamonga police open house, California authorities reported.

The incident took place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at the department’s annual open house, a San Bernardino County sheriff’s news release said.

Downdrafts from a police helicopter landing on a rooftop helipad for the event lifted the bounce house and several canopies over other booths into the air, the release said.

Three children inside the bounce house were taken to a hospital to be examined and treated, officials said. A fourth child in the bounce house was unhurt.

Authorities did not release information about the extent of the injuries, KTTV reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration is assisting the sheriff’s department with an investigation, the release said.
