Usually, when we think of caves tucked away in a mountainside, the natural dwelling is followed by images of dark, dank and mysterious nature made tunnels. But for one cave in Boulder, Utah, it’s a magical short-term vacation rental — with all the comforts of home.

“The cave is a free-standing rock that your host, Grant, blasted and carved into his custom home,” the listing says on Airbnb. “It’s finished with glass openings for uninterrupted views of the Grand Staircase-Escalante Monument. Like sitting in a painting.

The cave is the brainchild of host Grant Johnson, who bought the land that he would eventually turn the property into an “off-grid homestead with a 5,700 square foot cave house” over a 40-year time period, Unofficial Networks reported.
