Walmart to offer free cholesterol, wellness screenings for one day only. What to know
Walmart is treating customers to a free, one-day event offering screenings, exams and resources that prioritize wellness.
The retail giant will host “Wellness Day” events at more than 4,600 Walmart pharmacies across the U.S. on Saturday, April 23, according to a company news release.
The one-day event runs from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. local time and features free glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure screenings, the company said. Vision exams will also be available at select locations.
Customers can roll up their sleeves for a no-cost COVID-19 vaccine. Flu, chicken pox and other immunizations will be offered at an “affordable” price, Walmart said, and customers will have a chance to speak with pharmacists if they have questions.
Since 2014, the company said it has facilitated “more than 4.7 million free health screenings for customers” through its Wellness Day events.
“We’re proud to help our communities live better and healthier by providing free health screenings during Walmart Wellness Day – we know healthcare is local, and we take a community by community approach to providing needed health care services,” Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of pharmacy, said in a statement.
