Two lots of Target’s store brand of dried sweetened strawberries, Good & Gather, got recalled for having sulfites that aren’t declared on the packaging.

Manufacturer SunTree Snack Foods didn’t say how this happened in its FDA-posted recall notice. What it did say was the Florida Department of Agriculture found the sulfites and “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”

This covers 4-ounce packages of Good & Gather Dried Sweetened Strawberries from lot Nos. 86061, best by 09/01/2022; and 88514, best by 10/01/2022, 10/04/2022-10/07/2022 and 10/11/2022-10/14/2022.

Customers who don’t expect the dried strawberries to be eaten by anyone with a sulfite allergy can continue to munch away. If they might be eaten by someone with a problem with sulfites, return the pouch to a Target store for a full refund or toss it.

If you have questions, call SunTree at 800-440-0680 or 480-719-6000, extension 219, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
