Driver blows through red light and hits 2-year-old boy in stroller, Arizona cops say

UPDATE: A driver was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 22, after she told police she was the driver involved in the crash, police told Fox 10.

A driver sped through a red light and struck a 2-year-old boy who was in a stroller, Arizona police told news outlets.

A family member was pushing the boy in a stroller through a crosswalk when the driver went through the intersection on Sunday, Feb. 20, Phoenix police told Fox 10.

The boy was seriously injured and is hospitalized in stable condition, AZ Family reported.

The driver did not stop after striking the toddler, 12 News reported.

Authorities told Fox 10 the driver was in a charcoal gray Nissan Altima or Maxima.

The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. near 19th and Glendale avenues in Phoenix, AZ Family reported.
