Actor Issa Rae offers up California home through Airbnb for Valentine’s Day weekend
Fans of HBO’s hit series “Insecure” may be sad that the Emmy-winning show came to an end in 2021, but they can still be thrilled that actor/producer Issa Rae is still finding ways to surprise them.
Rae has teamed up with Airbnb and is offering up a stylish Los Angeles home to some lucky guests — but only for a limited time over Valentine’s Day weekend.
The home is located in View Park, the neighborhood where Rae grew up and where the show is based, a communications representative with Airbnb told McClatchy News.
“I’m inviting guests to spend a weekend in my hometown to experience the culture, businesses and communities that influence my storytelling on screen,” Rae said on Airbnb. “I can’t wait to show guests all the things that make Black LA so special firsthand.”
Booking opens up on Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time for one stay at $56 a night from Saturday, Feb. 12, to Monday, Feb. 14, the listing on Airbnb says.
Guests will be doing a variety of activities that include:
Exploring some of Rae’s favorite LA landmarks
A virtual chat with the actor herself
Catered Super Bowl “game day” dinner for two
A “self care Sunday” complete with Sienna Naturals hair care
“The streets, sights and sounds of my hometown have long been a main character in my creative work,” Rae said on Airbnb. “You may have heard that I’m rooting for everybody Black — and this mission is inspired by my LA community. During this epic weekend, I hope you come to appreciate my community’s rich history and its many contributions to LA.”
Rae rose to fame with her web series and best-selling book “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.” She later created the critically acclaimed comedy-drama “Insecure,” which ran for five seasons on HBO.
