A 10-foot-long great white shark caught in the North Atlantic has been named after rapper and marijuana aficionado Snoop Dogg, resulting in a lot of bad weed jokes on social media.

Snoop Dogg — the shark, that is — was observed to have a bad case of the munchies after being tagged by the Massachusetts-based Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

“Turns out, he was on a dogfish eating binge!” the conservancy wrote on Facebook.

“It ate 3 dogfish within the span of about 45 minutes. Thanks to the CATs tag set up, we even got a shot of its face as it closed in on the third,” the post read. “Though we’ve long known from stomach content analysis that white sharks eat dogfish in this and other regions, it was amazing to see it in action!”

The real Snoop Dogg has become linked to sharks in the past two years while hosting Discovery’s Sharkadelic Summer, “offering his candid viewpoint on all things sharky.”

He has yet to comment on actually having a shark named after him, though the conservancy has tagged Snoop Dogg in some of its posts.

It didn’t take long for people on social media to start posting marijuana puns, along with requests for another shark to be named after Snoop Dogg’s famous friend, home decor pro Martha Stewart.

“This shark doesn’t look high to me,” Leah A. Schmidt posted on the conservancy’s Facebook page.

“Apparently he’s desperately looking for some seaweed,” Kevin Depathy wrote.

“It’s a Dogg-eat-Dog world,” Mike Barrett said.

The conservancy shared the video of Snoop Dogg the shark eating Atlantic Spiny Dogfish, which can grow to 4 feet. The video shows the shark lunging at one of the fish, then swimming away with it wedged in its mouth.

“As far as we know, this is the first time this has been captured using this technology, and we’ll be examining the footage in more detail soon,” the conservancy wrote.

Great white sharks can grow to 20 feet in length and have been known to weigh nearly 6,600 pounds, Oceana reports. Data shows the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy is currently tracking sharks as big as 16 feet in the North Atlantic.
