Texas house for sale boasts an ‘airplane’ theater — and Zillow Gone Wild asks why
Usually, whenever someone thinks about flying commercial, the first thoughts that come to mind usually revolve around zero leg space, questionable snacks, crying babies and an overall feeling of discomfort...not, “I really need one of these in my own house.”
However, a house recently listed for $4.25 million in Austin, Texas, is perfect for someone who thought the latter. And a popular Facebook page would like to understand why.
On the outside, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home looks prestigious while a majority of the inside is “a combination of elegant mid-century style with waterfront modern features and extraordinary quality,” the listing on Zillow describes.
“This home was constructed as two exterior wings connected by an interior courtyard, expertly situated in a way that shields the view of neighboring homes while maximizing the hillside scenery. Every detail is strategic, of the highest quality and contributes to the aura of sanctuary & tranquility.”
While the 4,809-square-foot home is certainly something to behold, one room in particular is drawing questions: the theater.
“Many surprises throughout, notably the one-of-a-kind ‘Airplane Cabin’ media room with 7 first class leather seats from Delta L-1011,” the listing describes.
Fans of the Facebook page Zillow Gone Wild were a little thrown off by the airplane room.
“When I think about the most comfortable place to relax and watch a movie, it’s definitely an airplane,” one fan sarcastically said.
“Over $4 million just to have an airline movie experience,” another said. “Only thing missing is a tiny bag of peanuts and 1/3 of a can of Coke.”
“Who likes flying commercial so much they would want that in their house??” another asked.
“I actually kind of like it,” a fan said. “Maybe because there’s legroom.”
“You want me to come over and watch the classic comedy Airplane!” another exclaimed. “In your home theater? Surely you can’t be serious.”
