‘Somebody didn’t listen to his momma.’ Fawn gets stuck in California pool, photos show
A fawn could barely keep its head above the water after plunging into a California swimming pool.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that it was called to a home that had an unexpected guest in its swimming pool.
“When Sgt. Seligsohn arrived, the fawn was barely able to keep its nose above the water,” the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. “He was able to keep it above water using the skimmer and Earl, from Sierra Wildlife Rescue, was able to retrieve it.”
Photos from the sheriff’s office shared on Facebook show the fawn curled up on the edge of the pool after it was rescued.
“Somebody didn’t listen to his momma about staying away from humans,” one commenter said.
It’s not the first time deer have tried to take a swim. Earlier this month an Ohio homeowner worked for over an hour to pull two fawns from her swimming pool, McClatchy News reported. She had to call the police for assistance.
“The deer were tired, but happy,” the Parma Police Department wrote in a post. “You can hear them let out a ‘cheer‘ of appreciation after being rescued.”
