3 kids - one dropped from moving car - die on Arkansas highways in a day, cops say

Arkansas State Police are investigating the deaths of three young children, killed in two separate incidents along highways within the span of five hours on Tuesday.

Two children died after being hit by a semi-truck on U.S. 67 at around 4 a.m., according to Arkansas State Police. They were 10-year-old Michael Rogers III, and his baby sister, Princess Josh-Lyn Logan, 3.

State troopers responded to the early morning crash, KAIT reported.

The children’s mother, Latoya Taylor, 26, was at the scene, and was unharmed, according to police. The trucker, 77-year-old Gerald Sanders, was also uninjured.

A few hours later, just before 9 a.m., a motorist called police after witnessing a small child being dropped from a moving vehicle on Interstate 30.

The child died at the scene as troopers waited for medical help to arrive. Law enforcement determined the child was about 2 years old.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday night, but investigations are still ongoing, according to state police.
