Special delivery: Dog gets Chick-fil-A for her North Carolina owner — and gets famous
A dog delivered Chick-fil-A in North Carolina — and the internet can’t get enough of it.
Ellie the dog gained fame after she joined her owner to pick up a curbside order in Chapel Hill, the restaurant at the Carraway Village shopping center wrote last week on Facebook.
The dutiful pet ran across the parking lot to a Chick-fil-A worker, using her mouth to grab a bag of food from the employee’s hand, video shows. Ellie then carried the delivery order back to her owner, according to footage on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
As of Monday, the video, which racked up thousands of shares and comments, has been seen more than 2 million times since it was posted on Thursday.
And it seems some of the viewers are big fans of Ellie.
“Awe look how happy and proud she is with that tail wagging,” one Facebook user commented.
Another person wrote: “This is hands down one of the cutest things I’ve seen.... What a good girl! Ellie, at 1.4 million views in one day you’re officially famous, sweet girl. And rightfully so.”
Others wondered what their own four-legged friends would do.
“I love that,” a Facebook user wrote. “My dog would eat it before returning to me!!”
During the coronavirus pandemic, Chick-fil-A in a news release said it was paying attention to health guidelines, disinfecting restaurants and requiring workers to wash their hands. The Carraway Village location as of Monday was open for drive-thru, delivery and curbside services, according to its website.
The restaurant is roughly 4 miles from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
