Carjacker forces delivery driver to flee cops — with his toddler in car, TX police say
A pizza delivery driver in Texas had a scary night Tuesday after police say a carjacker forced the driver to flee authorities — and brought his two-year-old along for the ride.
Just around 11 p.m., Houston police say they responded to a two-car crash in Pasadena when a silver Ford sped away from the scene, KTRK reported.
Police chased the vehicle to Pasadena — roughly 14 miles southeast of Houston — where it finally stopped before a man bolted out of the back seat and started running between homes, according to the outlet.
He’s still on the loose, police say.
Officials say the carjacker initially pointed a shotgun at the delivery driver before putting his own son in the back seat of the driver’s car and ordering the driver to speed away, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The vehicle reached speeds of more than 100 mph during the chase with police, according to the newspaper.
The chase ended when the vehicle crashed, KHOU reported.
Police say the carjacker left his child behind in the vehicle when he ran away, according to the outlet. Officials searched the area for the carjacker for hours but to no avail, according to the outlet.
Officials are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the initial carjacking, according to the outlet.
